KAMAMICA are straying from their musical roots to perform Noel Coward’s Hay Fever for the Harrogate International Festival Fringe.
Noel Coward is considered to be one of the most gifted writers that the English theatre has produced.
Hay Fever is a light comedy that relates a summer weekend in the Bliss family’s country home.
Judith Bliss is a retired actress, David, her husband, is a successful novelist, and their children, Simon and Sorel, are artistically inclined and like their parents, selfish and often bad mannered.
Each member of the family has invited a guest for the weekend. They are treated badly throughout dinner and during a word game and all become involved in romantic situations.
The evening ends with a histrionic display by the whole family which succeeds in sending their terrified guests scuttling away next morning.
Hay Fever is one of Noel Coward’s most popular plays and Kamamica are presenting it in Harrogate Theatre Studio, Friday, July 1 and Saturday, July 2 at 7.45pm and a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm.
l Tickets are available from Harrogate Theatre Box Office (Tel: 502116).
