Temple Newsam estate will echo to the sounds of classical music and pop this summer thanks to Opera in the Park and Party in the Park.

The pretty parklands near Leeds will host the two outdoor events organised by Leeds City Council on July 27 and July 28 respectively.

Opera in the Park will feature Aled Jones, Amore, Laura Wright, the Orchestra of Opera North and more.

Party in the Park sees an all-star bill including Dizzee Rascal, Professor Green, Olly Murs, Scouting for Girls and more.

A major change for this year brought about by the continuing significant budget challenges faced by the council is the decision to introduce a charge for those wishing to attend Party in the Park.

Bringing the event in line with Opera in the Park and also Classical Fantasia which will be held in the grounds of Kirkstall Abbey in September, admission prices for all three events will be the same.

General admission will cost £10 with concessions available.

Tickets for both Opera and Party in the Park are on sale at (www.leeds.gov.uk/opera or www.radioaire.com/partyinthepark or in person/by telephone from Leedss city centre box office at The Carriageworks (telephone 0113 224 3801) or from Leeds Visitor Centre at the train station (telephone 0113 242 5242).
