With John Cooper Clarke it was heroin. With Midge Ure alcohol. Thank goodness I decided not to bother to bring up any possible bad stuff when I talked to ex-Bay City Roller Eric Faulkner a year or so ago.

Delving into musician’s dark periods is about as enlightening as asking me why I went out with a particular girl who was clearly wrong for me 20 years ago.

But I digress. The reason for this ramble is Eric Faulkner is returning to play here shortly,

Having Shang-a-Langed to success with a sellout gig at the Black Bull in Kettlesing, he’s about to bring his roots and all show An Evening With Eric Faulkner to The Regency in Harrogate on Saturday, June 1.

Expect acoustic thrills and spills, some folk and the occasional Rollers hit in his charming live show.

Support comes from talented local singer-songwriter Ade Payne.

Tickets are going fast but can be had from Janey on 01423 564058 or book online at www.ericfaulkner.co.uk
