An array of talent shines for show final

Band Your Illumination are announced as the winner’s of this year’s Ripon’s Got Talent contest

The live final of Ripon’s Got Talent showcased the city’s performers at Ripon Leisure Centre.

Magicians, musicians, dancers and impressionists all took to the stage to impress not only the audience but the all important panel of judges.

Deciding who would be crowned winners were radio presenters, Jen Lees and Patrick Dunlop, Bev Skaife from Ripon Red Triangle Drama Group and Nathan Bosomworth from Nathan’s Drum 
School.

Presenter and organiser James Parkes, Youth Worker with Ripon Youth Support Services said: “This is the third year we have run Ripon’s Got Talent and we are so pleased to see a variety of acts from all different ages come together to showcase their talents.”

The eventual winners were band Your Illuminations who said they were thrilled to have taken the title. “We are so surprised to come out on top against such tough competition,” the band said.

In second place was magician Thomas Florence with third taken by guitarist and vocalist Phil Cummins.

Ripon’s Got Talent is open to young people aged between 11 and 19 who live or attend school in Ripon. North Yorkshire County Council Youth Support Service organises the event as part of its programme for young people in Ripon.
