One of Harrogate's most dazzling chefs is toasting the success of his latest venture venture at award-winning Rudding Park Hotel.

Ex-Masterchef finalist Murray Wilson's bold and dramatic pop-up restaurant Horto is to remain open in its current location until May 2017.

Having proven so popular, Horto will then relocate to the hotel's new £9.5 million spa development set to open the same month.

Rudding Park's managing director Peter Banks said: "The whole team put their heart and soul into creating the Horto experience.

"Taking inspiration from head chef Murray Wilson, kitchen gardener Adrian Reeve and the interior design team, we've turned our vision into reality and created a new contemporary dining experience which our guests seem to love."

Latin for 'kitchen garden'. Horto uses seasonal ingredients from Rudding Park Kitchen Garden with Murray's menu dictated by nature, the skill of the gardener and the flair of the chef, himself.

Horto offers an a la carte menu and tasting menu which changes on a regular basis.

In a spirit of adventure, if diners select the tasting menu, they are encouraged to resist the temptation to look at the menu but are, instead, encouraged to discover the delicious taste sensations 'blind'.

Both chef and waiters are keen to also create a sense of food theatre with interaction in a friendly and relaxing atmosphere.

The inventive Murray Wilson, who previously worked at Norse, Hotel du Vin, the Yorke Arms at Ramsgill and a Claridge's for Gordon Ramsay, said: "We've only been open four months and we have built up a fantastic following.

"I'm looking forward to continuing to build on this and am really excited about the move to the new spa extension in the Spring."
