This week, the Gazette has featured the story about the delays facing the planned new cinema on North Street in Ripon.
The opening of the North Square cinebar, restaurant and studio has been put on hold after the construction company working on the project – employed from outside the region – went bust.
Developer Sterne Properties, which is overseeing the scheme, says it hopes to complete it using local contractors where they can so that a date can be scheduled for the opening of the cinema.
And Penny Hartley – manager of the cinema project, which will be run as a charity initiative – said she was “very disappointed” it hadn’t opened yet but added the project’s volunteers remained optimistic.
What we want to know is: how often would you visit a cinema in Ripon to watch films?
