Organisers of the Aldborough and Boroughbridge Show have postponed this year’s event after heavy rain left the field unusable for the scheduled date.
They said: “This has not been a decision that has been taken lightly and in view of the forward weather forecast and the already very wet ground, it would be unwise to put spectators, animals or exhibitors at great risk.”
The committee has yet to confirm the new date, but it is inviting those entering the classes of horticulture, baking, farm produce, children’s, photography, floral art, and art to show their exhibits as planned on Sunday, July 22, but at the alternative venue of Coronation Hall in Milby.
The general public is invited to view the entries at Coronation Hall from noon. An entry fee of £1 will be made to all adults attending who have not exhibited.
The new date for the full show will be announced over the next few days on the website www.aldandborshow.com.
Tradestands, sponsors, craft stands and all other exhibitors will be notified of the new show date in writing in due course.
