Tree goes up at Fountains Abbey

SOLDIERS from Ripon’s 21 Engineer Regiment have provided some festive cheer at a nearby beauty spot by erecting a 20ft Christmas tree for visitors to enjoy.

The Claro Barracks-based soldiers were at the Studley Royal and Fountains Abbey World Heritage Site on Tuesday, November 22, to carry the large nordman fir to the courtyard of the visitors’ centre where it was lifted into position.

The tree is decorated with lights and a star on the top and is in a perfect position for visitors to enjoy throughout the festive season.
