Two Thirsk schoolgirls are currently starring in a children’s challenge TV show.

Camp Orange, which is on Nickelodeon, features Georgia Steel, 13 and Elise Cussons, 12, from Thirsk School.

The best friends auditioned for the show little realising they would be jetting off to a secret location in the Australian bush.

The pair are competing against three other pairs of best friends from the UK

With no contact with the outside world the girls will face the ‘Putrid Pie’ where contestants have to cross a giant greasy drainpipe, with steaming garbage below, to make a pie from horrible ingredients.

Denise Lewis, Olympic gold medallist and International Inspiration Ambassador for the 2012 Olympic Games, joins the camp directors as surprise guest and mentor to the group, ensuring the focus on fair play is maintained.

Thousands of kids auditioned for the chance to be part of the reality show and Elise said she was gobsmacked when she found out they had got through by acting out Australian-themed images.

The winning team will enjoy a luxury trip onboard the Norwegian Epic Nickelodeon Cruise.
