AS part of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations, Bluebrick Healthcare – the company behind plans to build a care home on the former Wheatsheaf pub site on Harrogate Road in Ripon – is running an art competition in partnership with the Jubilee 2012 Working Party and the Ripon Gazette.
The company wants to place seven or eight 8ftx4ft vinyl hoardings around its development to improve the appearance of the southern entrance to the city.
Bluebrick Healthcare is inviting schoolchildren to create artwork for the hoardings based on the theme of either the Queen’s Jubilee or the 2012 Olympics.
Entries will be judged in three age categories – under-sevens; eight - 11-year-olds; and 11 - 14-year-olds – and the Gazette hopes to feature the winners and their designs in a future edition.
Entries must be submitted on A4 paper to the Ripon Gazette office at 5a Kirkgate, Ripon, HG4 1PA, along with details of the child’s name, age, school and a contact telephone number. They should be received no later than 3pm on Friday, April 27.
l Please note the Gazette is unable to return entries and the judges’ decision is final.
