A STREET party with a difference is planned in Ripon Cathedral for the Queen’s Jubilee.

The table for 60, to mirror the Queen’s time on the throne, will be set up in the cathedral for a very special tea party.

But guests need to win their place by helping create a unique wall display of Jubilee memories in the cathedral.

The competition is open to people aged 60 or over who can share their own memories of the Coronation. The 60 best contributions will win a ticket to the best street party in the city.

The event takes place on Tuesday, June 5, and is lined up for coverage by national TV.

To be in with a chance send your Coronation memories – written or photographic, long or short – including full contact details and a phone number to Cathedral Jubilee Street Party, c/o Ripon Gazette, 5a Kirkgate, Ripon, HG4 1PA, e-mail news@ripongazette.co.uk or tweet @riponrover. The deadline is Friday, May 25. Entries will also be printed in the Ripon Gazette.
