Wetherby Folk Chorale and the Engine Shed are to join forces to remember World War One.
An evening of songs, verse and contemporary prose is to be staged by the folk group at a free event at the Wetherby venue on October 30.
Wetherby Folk Chorale’s music director Mel Swales said: “This is a marvelous opportunity for the people of Wetherby to join together to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the start of the First World War.
“We are also extremely grateful to the Engine Shed for providing such a superb venue.”
Voluntary donations will be shared between relevant military charities.
Wetherby Folk Chorale, an all-amateur group of singers from the area, perform regularly at festivals and musical gatherings.
They are busy rehearsing many popular and moving tunes from the era and also preparing appropriate poems and prose.
Mr Swales said there would also be plenty of opportunity for the audience to join in.
Entry will be by ticket but voluntary donations can be made on the day of the concert itself. Details available at www.wetherbyfolkchorale.co.uk
