Ryan Bradshaw hailed Harrogate CC’s resolve after his side maintained their perfect start to 2014 with a double victory over the Bank Holiday.

Harrogate have yet to drop a point in their Yorkshire League campaign.

And the captain is targeting another double glory this weekend when Harrogate head to Cleethorpes on Saturday before a National Knockout second round tie at Hull-based Hetton Lyons.

Tom Geeson-Brown was the hero again on Mondays to bring Gate back from staring down the barrel to beat Rotherham by 16 runs on Monday.

The strike bowler bowled 20 consecutive overs to take 4-44 and rattle Rotherham from 60-0 to 135 all out.

Bradshaw said: “It was a heroic bowling spell.

“To bowl 20 overs in a row, for a big fella like him, it takes a lot of effort.”

Two days earlier, the St George’s Road outfit had given a “near perfect” display to maintain their lead at the top of the Yorkshire League to batter Driffield by seven-wickets.

Andy Laws took 5-32 to bowl Driffield out for 164, before Alexis Twigg’s 66 guided Gate to a seven wicket win.

Meanwhile, Harrogate 2nds failed to reach Dringhouses 145-7, falling 21 runs short. This week, George Owram’s side host Thirsk in York Senior League Division Two North.
