MATT Till produced a wonderful allround display to help his Sessay side win the 2011 Hunters Premier League Cup on Sunday.
Batting first opponents Woodhouse Grange struggled against the opening bowling attack of Richard Till and Stuart Peirse as they tried to grab some early runs.
Richard Till took the big scalp of Andrew Bilton for two .
Chris Bilton then fell soon after.
Run machine Nick Hadfield fashioned 41 before Matt Till took his first of three victims.
A combination of good bowling and excellent ground fielding restricted Woodhouse to 169-9 which looked a below par score.
And so it proved in reply as Till hit a fine 71 and was well supported by Nick Harrison (45no) as they pulled home on 170-3.
It made up for Saturday’s disappointing loss to Fenner.
Batting first, Steve Langstaff’s men could only muster 140 all out.
Their opponents made heavy weather of it in reply but eventually pulled home with two wickets left in the shed.
Elsewhere in the Premier League STUDLEY ROYAL will be looking to build on Saturday’s draw against York 2nds when they travel at Dunnington tomorrow.
On Saturday skipper Steve Walmsley (32), Rob Nicholson (31) and a wonderful 100 not out by Gary Blackburn batted them to 250-5.
Walmsley then spun his way to an excellent 7-81 as York were short on 233-8.
In Division One THIRSK will be looking for a comeback away at Pickering tomorrow.
On Saturday they were beaten by Acomb. After being bowled out for 122, their opponents came through on 124-4.
RIPON are also hunting a return to winning ways, at Beverley Town 2nds tomorrow.
