Ring rusty Ripon eye comeback

IT’S been a long wait but Ripon will be crossing their fingers they get back on the field of play tomorrow after the seasonal cold snap put paid to any competitive action.

Ripon’s proposed game against Yarnbury bit the dust last Saturday due to a waterlogged pitch after the recent thaw.

They are due to travel to Roundhegians on Saturday before a tasty local derby at home to Skipton in eight days’ time.

On Saturday there was a splattering of action in the league.

Current leaders Huddersfield YMCA managed to get a game in and beat Doncaster Phoenix 21-20.

Hullensians also played and picked up a narrow win against Barnsley 18-15.

Skipton were victorious away at Old Rishworthians 24-6 and Pocklington picked up a home win over Roundhegians 27-7.

Ripon are currently tenth in the Yorkshire Two table.
