The Yorkshire Cycling Federation 10 mile time trial took place last Saturday on Humberside, and proved a record-breaking day for two Nova riders.

In her first attempt at the course, Joanne Ketteringham knocked two seconds off Heather Thomson’s 13-year-old record to produce the fastest ladies’ TT in Nova history with 23:12.

Duncan Mullier came within 7 and 5 seconds of the men’s record last year, but now smashed a whopping 31 seconds off it, but the ecstasy was tinged with agony as 20:04 was just shy of the elite sub 20 minute/30mph+ mark.

Other Nova riders also produced fast times with Tony Kent recording 21:27, now former record holder Simon Hudson. 21:55 and John Tiffany 24:34, equalling his PB

Round 6 of the Beech House Dental Practice TT league was one 9 mile lap of the rolling Langthorpe-Kirby Hill-Skelton circuit. Champion Steve Smales of Boneshakers was there to win with 20:41, ahead of Mullier 21:10 and Yorkshire Velo’s Richard Hamilton 21:21.

The ladies event was won by Clifton’s TT sensation Jessica Bacon with 22:55
