Goundry scoops gold at nationals

Ten divers from Harrogate and District Diving club took part in this year’s British Gas National age group championships.

In the Boys Group A events, Adam Goundry won gold in the 1m and finished fourth in the 3m. Adam then teamed up with Leeds diver Chris Nicholls in the Boys 14-18 year synchro event. The new pairing claimed gold in their first ever event. In the Boys D, Tom Gugan finished 16th in the 1m and 3m, and 9th on the platform. Elliot Eccles came 19th in the 1m. 11th in 3m and 14th on the platform.

Three of Harrogate’s divers entered the Girls group A events. Kirsty Beighton took bronze on the platform and came eighth in the 1m and 5th in 3m. Jasmine Feingold was fouth in the 1m, and seventh in the 3m and platform.

Kirsty and Jasmine paired up in the Girls 14-18 year synchro and finished 5th. Hannah Hickingbotham took part in the 1m & 3m competitions finishing 13th in the 1m and 10th in the 3m.

In the Girls group D events Rosie Wilson-Burrell came 19th in the 1m and 17th in both her 3m and platform competitions. Eden Brown finish 18th on 1m, 23rd on 3m, and 27th on the platform. Charlotte Goodman came 24th on 1m. 9th on 3m, and 19th on platform. Isla Coyle finished 33rd on 1m. 31st on 3m, and 32nd on the platform.
