Dan Linfoot has moved up to fifth in the MCE British Superbike Championship ahead of round four in Knockhill on this weekend, writes Andrew Lawton.
The Knaresborough rider drove his Quattro Plant Kawasaki to sixth and seventh at the last racing weekend at Snetterton, the third race of the season.
Linfoot’s second consecutive 19-point haul took his tally up to 51 for the season, 18 behind Yamaha rider Tommy Bridewell in fourth.
He said: “I am pleased with how the weekend went and although I would naturally want more, I’ve racked up two more consistent finishes in and around the top six.”
Having qualified in 11th for the opening race, Linfoot was running in fifth at one stage of the 16-lap race before missing out on sixth by just 0.069 seconds.
And after starting on the third row of the grid for race two, Linfoot was unable to progress until a crash on lap 13 saw him move up to sixth place.
Linfoot said: “The straight line speed of the bike is excellent, but I still feel there’s more to come from me in terms of how I’m riding.
“I’m rushing into the corners a bit too quickly so I need to adapt my style a bit and if I can do that,
“I’ll be able to carry more corner speed and put myself in a lot better position.”
