Saturday football: Town draw and Rail’ lose in key relgation battles

HARROGATE Town picked up a point in their bid to pull away from the Blue Square North relegation zone on Saturday, drawing 2-2 at Colwyn Bay.
Town went a goal down in the first half and were still 1-0 behind at half-time.
But an Alex Meechan goal shortly into the second stanza put Town on level pegging.
Colwyn scored again but Chib Chilaka grabbed Town’s second of the afternoon to earn a valuable point for the Wetherby Roaders.
They remain one place and one point above the bottom three, in 19th.
Vauxhall Motors drop back into danger after a 2-0 defeat at Bishop’s Stortford.
Town have two games left, next Saturday’s hosting of Solihull Moors, and the vital trip to Corby Town on April 28.
Meanwhile HARROGATE RAILWAY have two games remaining to save their season.
They were beaten 1-0 at home to Wakefield on Saturday, in the Evo Stik First Division North.
A second half penalty for Wakefield means Railway drop into the bottom two, and Wakefield go a point ahead.
Railway entertain Farsley FC on Tuesday night, before the final day of the season at home to Mossley.
Elsewhere TADCASTER ALBION were felled 5-1 by Barton Town Old Boys.
They played 65 minutes of the match with 10 men, after Chris Kamara was sent off.
Nick Thompson scored Tadcaster’s only goal.
