RIPON returned to action after the big freeze on Saturday, and claimed a gritty 9-3 Yorkshire Two win over rivals North Ribblesdale.
On a Mallorie Park reduced to something of a mudbath by the final whistle, Andy Brown's troops put in a determined display in seriously heavy conditions.
Fly half Glenn Lyons kicked three penalties in reply to Rib's one, but Ripon's strength was largely in their scrummaging which nullified every attack Ribb' attempted to stage.
