HARROgate Town recovered from their FA Cup woe to pick up three Blue Square North points at home on Saturday.

They beat visitors Gainsborough Trinity 2-1 in rainy conditions, thanks to goals from new signing Alex Meechan and defender Richard Pell.

Town visit Worcester City on Tuesday (7.45pm).

Meantime, HARROGATE RAILWAY were thumped 4-0 away at Witton Albion in the Evo-Stik First Division North.

In rugby union, HARROGATE drew 17-17 at home to Nuneaton in National Two North.

Winger Noel Minikin and number eight Ryan Peacey scored the tries.
