BRIAN MCDERMOTT has returned to Leeds United today in an attempt to draw a line under a chaotic weekend at Elland Road.
The 52-year-old, sacked on Friday night by prospective owner Massimo Cellino, will take training at Thorp Arch this morning and is certain to be given a warm welcome by the players.
He will then speak to the media at Thorp Arch to explain events at Elland Road.
McDermott was told over the weekend that Cellino, whose takeover is not yet done, had over-stepped the mark in dispensing with his services. The Italian also back-tracked over the weekend, saying he wanted McDermott to stay.
After taking legal advice from the League Managers’ Association, the United manager decided to return to work and start planning for the weekend’s game at Yeovil Town.
