Harrogate centre Kyle Dench has been chosen to captain Yorkshire in their opening County Championship match against Cheshire at Macclesfield on Saturday.
Dench, who was in Australia until early March and missed the core of the season, has previously represented the England Counties and captained them on tour to Spain.
Also called into the Yorkshire squad are hooker Steve Maycock and second row forward Jacob Brady but neither will not know if they are included in the matchday squad until selection is finalised at Thursday evening’s training.
At last Saturday evening’s seasonal awards ceremony following the cruel outcome of Saturday’s final National Two North league game, which saw Harrogate relegated, Maycock took the coveted award of Players’ Player of the Season following votes from all those who have represented the first team this season.
Equal in second place were Tom Harvey and Tim Heaton.Harvey went on to be awarded the most improved player of the season,an award chosen by the coaching team.
Sam Brady was presented with the Trainer of the Season trophy and Luke Edwards the Georgians player of the season.
