Mark Cook is the flavour of the month in Peru at the moment.

The shotstopper has been interviewed on numerous TV stations regarding his proposed move to Universitario de Deportes, managed by former Newcastle United legend Nobby Solano.

However, a statement on Town’s website states the club have still not received any paperwork or a contract for Cook.

It added that until the situation changes, he remains a contracted player to Harrogate Town AFC.

Cook’s proposed move has caught the eye of the national media in Peru and the UK.

If the transfer does go through it would be a huge jump in standard for the ‘keeper, who started his life as a trainee at Newcastle.

Universitario are one of the most well supported clubs in the country.

Their season has already started, Solano’s troops sit fourth bottom in the Primera Division having won only one of their last five games.
