FORMER Harrogate Town legend John Deacey will return to Wetherby Road this evening with his Bradford Park Avenue charges in the semi-final of the County Cup (7.45pm ko).

Simon Weaver and his men are just one win away from playing at Bradford City’s home ground, where they will come up against Guiseley who beat Farsley last night.

Town’s last fixture in the competition saw them pick up a 1-0 victory away at Ossett Albion in the quarter-final.

Weaver will be looking for a victory to take into Saturday’s mouth-watering trip to Yorkshire rivals FC Halifax Town.

In the Evo-Stick, meanwhile, there was a bit of good news for Harrogate Railway.

They were without a game. But relegation rivals Cammell Laird did play, and they were beaten by Radcliffe Borough 2-1. Laird do have a game in hand over Nigel Danby’s men, but the gap between them and Rail’ is currently six points.
