Harrogate Railway get back to the business of Evo-Stik League First Division North football on Saturday, travelling to Trafford for a tough test against the league’s current leaders (3pm).

Billy Miller’s troops then host Ossett Town on Tuesday evening, as Railway seek to pick up more points to add to their haul.

It’s not been an easy start for the Station View outfit, and their first foray into the FA Cup was ended on Tuesday night in the preliminary qualifying round replay at South Shields.

Railway were beaten 1-0 by the Northern League side, having drawn 1-1 at home on Saturday thanks to a Si Parkes goal.

Jonny Whightman netted in the 36th minute for Shields on Tuesday, but desite Railway bombarding the Shields goal right up to the whistle, Shields’ defence held firm to ensure their passage to the next round.

Railway are currently 17th in the First Division North table, having played two, lost one and drawn one.

Trafford are top, having won two and drawn one.

Ossett Town are ninth with a win, a defeat and a draw all in the bag.
