A late free-kick sank Harrogate Town to a third match without a win in the new season as Simon Weaver’s men lost 3-2 at home to Hednesford Town.
Town had battled back from two goals down before Hednesford’s Danny Glover hit the winning set-piece with eight minutes remaining.
The defeat, Town’s second of the campaign, leaves them third bottom in the Vanarama North ahead of next Saturday’s home clash against title favourites Barrow.
Glover broke the deadlock on the stroke of half-time with a well-struck free-kick, which went in off the underside of the crossbar.
The Pitmen doubled their advantage when Jamey Osbourne blasted past Town stopper Phil Barnes from 25 yards.
James Walshaw brought Town back into the clash with a characteristic strike on 70 minutes.
And six minutes level, Dom Rowe pulled the visitors level when he reacted quickest from Lloyd Kerry’s set-play.
However, Town could not sustain their pressure and Glover dispatched another accurate free-kick into the top corner.
Kerry hit the crossbar in the dying minutes, as Town failed to force a draw.
