Harrogate Town got back to winning ways in the Blue Square North on Tuesday night, beating Gloucester City 1-0.

Paul Beesley’s third minute goal put the hosts in front, and Town pushed their visitors hard for the remainder of the game but the scoreline remained the same.

The game was delayed for several minutes when Adam Bolder and Luke Dean were involved in a collision, Dean then replaced by Michael Woods.

A crowd of 301 turned out to watch Simon Weaver’s men continue their pursuit of a play-off place.

And with FC Halifax Town held to a 1-1 draw at Bishop’s Stortford, sixth-placed Town are now just a point behind their fifth-placed promotion rivals.

They travel to Oxford City on Saturday before a trip to Saturday’s conquerors, Solihull Moors, on Tuesday.
