RAIN once again spoiled the weekend's cricket programme, although some sides did manage to claim a result.

In the Yorkshire ECB League, HARROGATE lost out to Doncaster Town by three wickets in a game reduced to 40 overs per side.

Imran Patel (49) and Nick Lindley (28) did the best with the willow as 'Gate posted 148-8, but despite four wickets for David Stiff 4-54 Town were winners at 149-7 in reply.

KNARESBOROUGH remain top dogs in Division Two of the Aire Wharfe League, crushing Harden by seven wickets in a 20-over-a-side contest.

Harden reached 110-8 as Mike Baxandall scooped 4-48, but Cyde Williams (43) and Aussie Dale Tormey (41no) steered 'Boro' over the line at 112-3.

Fellow Division Two side FOLLIFOOT were beaten by two wickets against Upper Wharfedale, 'Foot setting 147-5 batting first.

BARDSEY'S game with Silsden was called off.

In the top flight, BECKWITHSHAW (146-8) came off worst against Rawdon (157-6), while BILTON (143-7) overcame Pool (75-7) after Carl Heptinstall bagged 4-24.

The battle for local supremacy between THIRSK and SESSAY in the York Senior League fell victim to the weather, the game abandoned after just two balls.

In the Wetherby League, SPOFFORTH extended their lead at the top of the table with a 45-run success against KIRK DEIGHTON.

Spofforth were winners at 182-6 through Nick Robinson (77) and Paul Robinson (27), Simon Old taking 3-24 in reply to limit Deighton to 137-8.

Spofforth are now 20 points clear at the table summit.
