TWO top headline acts have been booked for this summer's CultureShock festival being organised by North Yorkshire County Council's Connecting Youth Culture team.
They have lined up London band Boy Kill Boy to perform on the main stage at the Northallerton event on July 5.
The four-piece have just released their second album, ‘Stars and the Sea’, and have been championed by Radio 1 DJs such as Jo Whiley and
Zane Lowe.
The other headline billing is the DJ duo Utah Saints, who will close the festival.
County Coun Caroline Patmore, executive member for Connecting Youth Culture, said: “This looks like being our best year yet. We have secured two great acts who will be certain to rock the festival. My advice is get your ticket now”.
Also appearing on the main stage will be local bands including Isotopia and Eskimo Sandwich, a well as a pop punk band from Slovenia.
In addition to the main stage there are a number of performance platforms including the dance space, drama space, film tent, 6K Vision stage, acoustic stage, mobile stage and hip hop stage featuring Northern Uproar and Shystie.
CultureShock 08 will also feature no fewer than 26 workshops covering activities from break dance and street art to animation and junk sculpture.
The festival is open to 13-19 year olds and anyone interested in attending is urged to buy a ticket in advance.
