Man killed in A61 crash named by police

A HARROGATE man killed after his vehicle crashed on the notorious stretch of the A61 between Ripon and Ripley has been named.
He was Stewart Michael Waddington, 32, of no fixed abode.

Mr Waddington was pronouced dead at the scene on Tuesday following reports in the early hours that a silver Vauxhall Astra had left the road outside Ripley.

He had been travelling towards Harrogate when his car left the road and collided with a brick wall near the junction with Nidd Lane on the A61.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or can provide information is asked to contact PC Stuart Holden of Harrogate police on 0845 60 60 24 7.
