World-class harpist on way to Ripon

One of the most prolific harpist composers of his generation is on the way to Ripon. David Watkins, Principal Harpist for 18 years with the London Philharmonic, will be performing at Markenfield Hall on May 26. Former Principal Harpist at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden at the age of 26, David said: “The older I get, the more aware I am of my longstanding family links with North Yorkshire and the inspiration it has given me over the years.

“I am particularly moved and excited to have been invited to Markenfield Hall on May 26 to have the opportunity to weave my own magic around the fascinating world of artists with whom I have met and with whom I have had the great privilege of working during a lifetime in the wonderful world of music.”

Tickets are priced at £12, or £10 for Friends of Markenfield.The performance is due to start at 7.30pm.
