Torrential downpours caused flash floods in Boroughbridge which saw residential streets under water and firefighters called to the area.
Fire crews from Ripon and Boroughbridge were called to properties in the Springfield Drive area – off York Road – on Sunday, June 10, at around 5pm and stayed for three hours using pumps to remove the water to a nearby field.
Mandy Barnes, a resident of Springfield Drive, captured the astounding scenes in the picture above.
She said she had never seen flood waters come right up to homes on her street before and appealed for action to be taken on the drainage system in the area.
Firefighters also dealt with flooding in 15 homes in York.
