Water feature plan for Newby Hall

THE gardens at Newby Hall are to get a permanent water feature forming part of its sculpture trail opening on May 28.

The work has been specially created by the famous water sculptor William Pye who has installations across Europe.

Called ‘Tarantella’, it will be sited in the adventure garden and will feature computer controlled dancing jets of water.

This year a number of works by contemporary sculptors exhibiting at Newby take classical myths as their subject, echoing some of the classical statues in the hall, which have been cleaned over the winter months.
