TEENAGERS from Boroughbridge have been learning about safe driving during a course run by the town’s youth centre.

The five 15-to-18-year-olds spent eight hours studying issues such as the lead causes of accidents involving young drivers, how to change a tyre, checking fluid levels in a car, and how to prepare for winter driving.

The course – which was first run by the youth centre a year ago – was organised by area youth worker Vicki Lever in partnership with Boroughbridge Auto Services.

As part of their reward for completing the safety course, the teenagers were given a two-hour skid-pan drive at Tockwith Motor Sports through a Safer Communities grant from Harrogate Borough Council.
