A HUGE thank you to all our readers who took part in our recent survey about the Ripon Gazette

We asked readers a whole range of questions about the newspaper, through a survey published in the newspaper, through email questionaires and through face to face interviews around the town.

The response was large, with many comments about content, design, promotions and price.

A large number of readers felt a smaller, tabloid newspaper would be more convenient that the current broadsheet format of the Gazette, and our team are now working on ‘dummy’ copies of a tabloid newspaper, to show to readers and advertisers for their response.

Editor of the Ackrill Media Group, Jean MacQuarrie said: “We weren’t specifically researching the conversion of the Gazette to a tabloid format, but during our general questions about the newspaper, it came across loud and clear that readers would like us to consider a new more modern format for the newspaper, and that’s what we will be working on now.

“We are so grateful to everyone who took part in the survey, and would like to thank everyone for the time they gave.

“It is great that people have such a huge interest in their local newspaper and want to be involved in how we shape it for the future.”
