THE St Wilfrid procession on Saturday has been described as one the best by the Mayor Of Ripon, Coun Sid Hawke.
Good weather ensured a large and enthusiastic crowd lined the route of the procession to see the floats, with themes this year including Mary Poppins, China and Las Vegas
Coun Hawke said: "It was one of the best crowds I have seen on the parade for many years.
"We had one shower about midday then the sun shone for the rest of the day
"When I spoke to people afterwards they all said it was really nice and well presented parade.
"The floats were absolutely magnificent."
As well as the procession, the day included plenty of entertainment on the market square including
a fun fair, magicians, a steel band, fire-eaters and acrobats.
