Fearby & Healey held its District Sports and Show amid glorious sunshine.

Children started the day with imaginative entries to the fancy dress competition on Fearby village green. Winners Grace Barker, Matilda Allerton, Bridget and Jude Greensit, Lucy Verity and Holly Ramsay were presented with their trophies by Rob and Fran Hall.

The fun continued through the afternoon with races, games and sideshows, until competitors and spectators took a break for tea in the village hall at 4pm.

After tea the sports continued, with the addition of water bomb throwing, and the baking, crafts and flower show was held in the marquee on the green.

Celebrations ended with a quoits match won by Bob Prisk, and a steak barbecue and disco at the village hall.
