Staff at a Ripon accountancy and business advice firm are putting their best foot forward for charity.
Six employees, plus family and friends from Eura Audit (UK) based on South Crescent, have signed up to the Saint Michael’s Hospice Sunrise Walk and are urging others to follow their lead.
The event, which aims to raise vital funds for patients and their families in the area who are living with terminal illness and bereavement, begins at Sawley Village Hall as the sun starts to rise on Sunday September 18.
Walkers will follow a six mile route that takes in the Ripon sights including Studley Deer Park and Fountains Hall. For the second successive year Eura Audit (UK), is also sponsoring the event and senior partner Brian Elsworth has vowed to match fund his employees up to £300 each. Brian, who participated in the inaugural Sunrise Walk last year with his team will be leading from the front again in September.
“I firmly believe that we as a community should be so thankful for the expertise and facilities Saint Michael’s Hospice offers families in Ripon and the wider district. Registration for the event is £9 and organisers are hoping participants will raise as much as possible through personal sponsorship. Registration deadline is Friday, September 2. Saint Michael’s Hospice currently needs £3.9million to maintain current service levels. More than 80 per cent of this must be raised through fundraising.
