WEB VOTE: Do you agree with same-sex marriage?

MPs have voted in favour of same-sex marriage - do you agree with their decision?

This week, the House of Commons voted to back legislation permitting same-sex couples to marry.

Among those voting in favour of the legislation were Ripon MP Julian Smith and Boroughbridge MP Andrew Jones.

Mr Smith said: “It was a difficult vote for everyone but I believe the protection that has been put in place for churches is very robust indeed. Over time people will realise this decision is the right decision.”

The politicians have had their say. We now want to know what you think: should same-sex marriages be permitted?
