Tax bus stops in Ripon

The Yorkshire Tax Bus stopped off at Ripon’s Market Place on Tuesday, October 9, as part of its tour around Yorkshire.
The Tax Justice Bus was in Ripon for one hour only to tell people how tax justice will help those living in poverty in the UK and abroad. Rod Morrison, a volunteer for Church Action on Poverty, Lindsey Pearson, from Christian Aid in Yorkshire and Dereje Alemayehu, the Chairman of ther Tax Justice Network Africa, were amongst campaigners travelling on the bus through the county. Christian Aid estimates that tax dodging costs developing countries $160 billion a year – money that could be spent building schools and hospitals.
