Students discuss medical ethics

MEDICAL ethics were the focus of a discussion between 50 Harrogate pupils and NHS senior consultants.

Students from Harrogate Grammar and St Aidans met with the consultants - from Harrogate's NHS Foundation Trust - to tackle issues such as ending life, the right to autonomy and personal responsibility for health.

The event was hosted at Harrogate Grammar School in partnership with the trust.

It is part of the medical sciences package introduced this year at the school for sixth form students interested in following medically-related career pathways.

The package also involves following patient journeys, attending departmental open-days and undergoing mock interview sessions lead by medical consultants.
