Snow and ice affect Harrogate travel

Heavy snowfall and sub-zero temperatures have affected travel around Harrogate this morning.
Sheet ice is affecting routes off the A59 Bradford and Leeds road into Harrogate.
Traffic is locked at Pannal and Burn Bridge.
Penny Pot Lane in Harrogate is shut both ways between the B6451 and B6161 Oaker Bank.
Main roads are largely clear, but motorists may find side roads difficult to pass.
Some commuters have turned round at Burn Bridge to try an alternative route because of the ice.
Transdev Harrogate, who run bus services in the area, have cancelled all yellow school services this morning.
Service Three has temporarily stopped after both buses became stuck on Jennyfield Drive.
Service 24 has also been suspended, after a bus got stuck at Summerbridge.
Service 36 is experiencing delays.
Theer are reports traffic lights on Forest Moor Road are stuck on red.
A number of schools and nurseries are not open today.
Train services between York and Leeds via Harrogate are currently running with minor delays.
However, due to problems on other services, rail travellers are warned delays are possible at Leeds.
Temperatures are not expected to rise above 0C today.
In Ripon, Ripon Cathedral CE Primary School and Boroughbridge High School are closed.
Main roads in and out of Ripon are clear,
However, Ripon Racecourse will close at 1pm instead of 5pm today, Lightwater Country Shopping Village and Fountains Abbey are closed.
