A SURGE of fundraising activities have been organise to support two-year-old Sadie Rose Clifford.

The Knaresborough girl, who has been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, is currently in America undergoing specialist treatment.

Since her arrival last month, doctors have discovered more tumours, meaning the family now needs even more money - and the community in their hometown and beyond has taken up the case.

Today, Friday, February 10 - Cake sale and raffle to win a pair of designer sunglasses at Specsavers in Beulah Street, Harrogate. Sadie’s Groove 2 at Lure Bar, Harrogate, 8pm till 2am, including house music with DJs Coley Luv Jam, Jamie Lindsey, Jim Pearson, Craig Cameron and James Moon, £5 donation on the door. Gymophobics in Harrogate hosts a 12-hour circuitathon from 8pm onwards. To sponsor, go along or visit www.justgiving.com/vikki-cathy-gymophobics. Mojo Jelly at The Alex, 8pm, with modern party covers, raffle and possible auction with prizes including meals for two, a photo shoot, cupcakes, a hotel stay, champagne and more.

Saturday, February 11 - Charity car wash by firefighters at Knaresborough Fire Station from 10am, with refreshments in the station. Fundraising at Smarties Nursery, Ripley, with barbecue, face paints, raffle and soft play. Times to be confirmed.

Sunday, February 12 - Aerobic/fitness class, 10.15-11am at Wetherby Leisure Centre, price of class is a donation for Sadie.

Tuesday, February 14 - Fairy workshop for girls aged two-and-a-half to four at Studio 3 Dance Workshop, Finkle Street, Knaresborough, 10am to noon, making tutus, fairy wand/wings, dance class and snack. £10 per child, booking essential by calling Vivienne Hall on 07966 173636.

Wednesday, February 15 - Curry night at Jaipur Spice restaurants in both Harrogate and Ainderby Quernhow, Thirsk. Thirty per cent of food takings donated to the appeal. Bookings on 01423 502610 and 01845 567796. Dance for Sadie at The Clock, Market Place, Knaresborough, 6pm to 8pm. Open to primary school-aged children. Tickets £3 on 07428 565224,

Thursday, February 16 - Party for Sadie from 7.30 to 10.30pm at The Clock, Market Place, Knaresborough. For secondary school-aged children. Tickets £3 on 07428 565224.

Friday, February 17 - Family fundraiser at SureStart Children’s Centre, Manor Road, Knaresborough, 10am to noon. Pool marathon at Harrogate Railway AFC, 7pm for 24 hours with competitions all night, win a gallon of beer.

Saturday, February 18 - Comedy, quiz, music and more at The Club, Station Parade, Harrogate from 7pm onwards.
