Pensioner on scooter killed in crash

A pensioner on a mobility scooter was killed as he travelled from Bedale to Masham.

The scooter which was travelling along Firby Road towards Masham Road was in collision with a Ford Ka heading from Bedale towards Masham on Sunday, September 2 at 6.15pm.

The 81-year-old scooter driver was declared dead at the scene which was at the junction of Sussex Street and Firby Road.

He has not been named.

The local man driving the Ka was not uninjured.

Anyone with information should call North Yorkshire Police on 101.
