Mother's Day 'gifts' will boost funds for breast cancer charity

A MOTHER'S Day gift with a difference will be helping to raise funds for a breast cancer charity.

Two Ripon businesses - Muse Photography and U Image Consultancy - have teamed up to offer mini 'pamper' and studio photographic sessions for Mum – with all proceeds going to Breast Cancer Research.

Explaining the inspiration behind the event, Nicola Woolfenden of Muse said: "Several of our friends have recently been affected by breast cancer, so it just seemed like the perfect idea to do a fundraiser for Mother's Day in aid of Breast Cancer Research.

opportunity

"The event is an opportunity to have fun and do something that you perhaps wouldn't normally do – raising money along the way."

Sessions will be held on March 20 and 27 and will include a mini makeover with Penny Bateman of U Image, a studio photo shoot with Philip Vaughan, four photographs, a glass of bubbly and chocolates – all for 45.

To launch the Mother's Day fundraiser, Sylvia Grice, whose daughter Helen Mackenzie is undergoing treatment for breast cancer, was invited to be 'guinea pig' for a makeover session.

'pampered'

"I thoroughly enjoyed the makeover with Penny and really did feel pampered," she said.

"Philip made me feel totally relaxed in front of the camera and the photographs are a fabulous reminder of the day.

"The fact that we're going to be raising money for Breast Cancer Research is a great reason to get involved."
