More like a stick than a tree?
A PLEA has been made to replace the 'scrawny' Christmas tree that hes been put up on Ripon market square.
Coun Andrew Williams, who described the tree erected last week as "a pathetic specimen", has lobbied Harrogate Borough Council to replace it with a more lavish example in time for the switch-on of Ripon's Christmas lights next Friday.
"This tree is not going to bring much Christmas cheer. It's more like a stick than a tree," he said, adding that a number of unhappy traders in the city had contacted him over the issue.
