A group of Knaresborough Rotarians have volunteered to help load a 40ft-long shipping container bound for Africa with medical supplies to an underequipped hospital.

On Saturday, September 29, the shipping container pulled out of the PhysioNet depot in Lower Dunsforth and started the long journey to Nyankunde in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Africa.

Charity PhysioNet, who are based in Lower Dunsforth, will ship bandages, surgical gloves and wheelchairs to Centre Medical Evangelique de Nyankunde – a hospital which was substantially destroyed in the Congolese war of 2002.
