Jennyruth makes medals for Lightwater race

The workforce from Jennyruth Workshops near Ripon has been busy making medals and trophies for the 2013 Lightwater Valley Challenge.

All runners in the 10K and 3K run – which takes place on Sunday, March 17 – will be presented with a bespoke medal made by the workers from the Bridge Hewick-based social enterprise. The students will also be at the race to present the medals to the runners.

Race organiser Richard Plummer, a supporter of the local charity, was delighted when Jennyruth confirmed it would be able to make the race medals and trophies.

He added: “We are also pleased local business Piccadilly Motors has agreed to fund all the medals and trophies. We are hoping for 300-plus runners on the day, a most generous sponsorship.’”
