Historic vehicle event pulls in the crowds
CLASSIC car enthusiasts flocked to Ripon Racecourse at the weekend to see more than 700 vehicles being exhibited.
The Ripon Old Cars club's 16th annual Classic Car Gathering was held on Sunday and attracted around 2,000 visitors who came to see a range of cars built between 1903 and the 80s, plus commercial vehicles, tractors and motorcycles.
'fantastic day'
"It was a fantastic day – the weather was with us and it couldn't have been better," said committee member Carol Dunkley.
"I'd like to thank everyone far and wide for their support of the event, it was just incredible how many visitors we had.
"I'd also like to thank the Ripon Race Company for allowing us to use their facilities."

Helping to run events on the day were the club committee's 15 members plus a few others.
This year's event was raising money for the Alzheimer's Society and the committee will meet in two weeks' time to learn how much has been raised.
